I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Tuscola, IL, facility and me. My name is Dawn Meredith. I am the terminal manager at the Tuscola terminal. I have been with LTC for 12 years. The last 9 years have been in the manager capacity. I was raised in this area and have close community ties. The Tuscola operation is one of the smaller terminals within LTC. We currently have 17 drivers. Nine of the drivers are company drivers and the other seven are owner operators. We also employ one dispatcher and a terminal clerk. Because of the small operation, we all work closely and are not only coworkers but also friends. We have partnered with Equistar Chemicals to handle all of their bulk shipments of denatured alcohol, ether, acetic acid, and vinyl acetate. Equistar acts as a tank farm for Millennium Petrochemicals. Millennium actually owns the acetic acid and vinyl acetate products. Along with handling their truck shipments, we also coordinate their rail shipments. The trailers are 97% dedicated to Equistar/Millennium products. This means that most shipments are out loaded and back empty. Eighty percent of the shipments deliver in the Midwest and southeast. The other ten percent is comprised of deliveries in the northeast, Canada, Texas and Colorado. We also work with Jones Hamilton hauling hydrochloric acid out of Cabot Chemicals. Cobot is next door to Equistar. Currently we have 5 drivers dedicated to this business. Most of these shipments are within 150-mile radius of Tuscola. This allows drivers to spend time at home each evening. Company drivers gross salary range from $40,000 to $50,000 per year. Owner operators can expect to gross between $2,000 and $2,300 per week.
